End of 8th Grade

Time flies so fast that when you think back to the start of 8th grade, it was like yesterday. Everyday we wake up and get ready to go to school. Even though it's repetitive, there are always different events throughout our school year. This year has been a great year. Although there was the devastating flood, we all managed to be successful and increase our knowledge. We are moving on to highschool; I'm sure all of us will be successful and accomplishing. Good luck to everybody, have a nice summer and a nice day. Good bye 8th grade.

Napoleon Theme Park - Paris, France

I would not visit the Napoleon Theme Park because I've been to many theme parks, and I've already learned about Napoleon, France's hero. Not only that, because I live in Thailand, and I do not appreciate travelling all the way to France and get a jet lag when I come back to Thailand. Also, I think that many people would want to go to the Napoleon Theme Park, which will make the place crowded, and personally, I don't like crowds. Therefore, I think I wouldn't be worth going to the Napoleon Theme Park because i'm also uninterested in history and historical theme parks.

Do we have to be born with courage or can we develop it?

Courage is not something you are born with, or have to be born with. It depends on the different challenges you face in your life and how you face the challenges with your courage by taking risks. As you become successful with the risks you take, you will have more courage while you develop and built up your courage. For example, if you tell others to follow rules, it is an example of moral courage, because you are speaking for yourself and for what you think is the right thing to do. Courage can be demonstrated through a big range of courageousness. It can be as small as asking a question in class or as big as saving someone else's life in a fire. All and all, you do not have to be born with courage, and we develop courage throughout our lifetime.

Boston Tea Party - Patriots or Terrorists

2 days ago, we had a Socratic seminar on Boston Tea Party. We discussed on a paper based on George Hewes, who told a story about his own experience 60 years ago at the Boston Tea Party. To me, these people involved in the tea party are patriots. They were upset with their government or the British. If the British hadn't taxed the colonists so much, or "taxation without representation," they probably wouldn't even try to fight the British. In the tea party, the patriots are clearly not terrorists. They have not used violence to overthrow the government. They disguised into Indians and threw all the tea into the sea. It was a part of their revolution, sending a message to the British government that they were unhappy, and that there is no right for the parliament to set up taxes whenever, and however they want. This isn't wrong, because the mother country is causing hardships for these colonists, and the colonies in America aren't dependent on the mother country-they can produce their own materials/products. It's the people's responsibility to overthrow the government if the government has dissapointed their citizens. Connecting to a current event, the Boston Tea Party is very similar to the red shirts and yellow shirts event that occurred in Thailand on 2009. The red shirts have their own say, so does the yellow shirts. The British have their own perspective, so does the colonists.
